Budapest Food Tour: Local Tastings & Drinks

4.9 · 90 reviewsFree cancellation

Overview

Your Budapest food tour begins at the Pest's oldest church, right on the Danube, with views of Buda across the water. Paprika is a recurring theme in Hungarian cuisine. You'll taste it in goulash, sausage, almapaprika, and dips, and learn how Vitamin C was first discovered by a Hungarian! You'll learn about goulash communism, bite into deep-fried lángos, sip on fizzy grape must, and wander through hidden passages. Then make your way deeper into the Jewish Quarter, famous for Budapest's ruin bars, its vibrant street food, and art scene. Never more than 12 people in the group. Morning tours end with a chimney cake to eat on the go; afternoon tours include an additional alcoholic drink and end with a vegan version of a classic Hungarian dessert. 10 tastings, 2 drinks, 2 neighborhoods, and enough stories to change how you think about Hungarian food.
